Well, the trip to Houston was so enjoyable. Sandy was a great driving partner and we never lacked for conversation. Thank you so much, Sandy, you are a blessing!
My ultrasound was good. They weren't able to see any lymph nodes! It was such a relief. My new Dr. was very nice. I really liked him. I'll see him again in six months.
Next week, Billy and I will return to Houston for an appointment with the oncologist and then on Thursday the 6th, I'll have reconstruction surgery. It will take all day! I'm looking forward to having it behind me.
God has been so good to me. Even though I'm nervous about all these appointments and even the surgery, I feel so safe and I know I can trust Him.
Thank you so much for all your faithful prayers. I love you all!

Follow up appointment.
It's been a long time since I last updated you. I have a follow up appointment on Tuesday for an ultra sound and a visit with a new radiologist. Dr. Yu has moved on somewhere else. The Lord must have had him just for me. Now, I'll be seeing Dr. Smith. I'll be traveling with my good friend Sandy. I know the Lord has everything under control and I trust Him, but I'm still a little nervous. Thanks for praying for me...

Update
All of my tests in June came back normal! My radiation burns are healing nicely. My next appointments are in December. A six month check up. Unless the Lord changes things, I'm scheduled for reconstruction surgery January 6. I'm having it at M.D. Anderson. I really trust them. I'll be staying with my mother-in-law, Alice, again. She's been so great! Since I've finished treatment, I'm taking Tamoxifen. I'm also trying to walk everyday, drink green tea, and stay away from sugar. This is my after-treatment, treatment. It's been so good to be home again and feeling more myself. I catch myself when I want to complain about a " bad hair day". No hair is way worse! I hope I appreciate my family more...and I'm more mindful of the memories I'm leaving. I want my children to grow closer to the Lord because of this, and so far they have. God has been very good to me. Thank you for your prayers and your support and encouragement. You have been a blessing to me...

Back to Houston
It's time for my first follow up visit. I finished my treatments the end of March and got to go home after eight weeks away. I've been busy just being a wife and mother. It has felt so good! My hair is growing back and it almost looks like I meant to have it this short. My first appointment is Monday, June 28th. I have an ultra sound of my neck and chest. I'll know a lot on that day. Then, I have an appointment on Tuesday and on Thursday. I so appreciate your prayers. I found a verse during a Bible study that describes how I feel. "He has delivered us (me) from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us (me). On Him we (I) have set our (my) hope that He will continue to deliver us (me), as you help us (me) by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our (my) behalf for the gracious favor granted us (me) in answer to the prayers of many." 2 Corinthians 1:10-11

Home at Last!
I'm home! It's so good to be here with my family again. I had a very good visit at M.D. Anderson. My time there has been a such a blessing. I met some really wonderful ladies in the radiation waiting room I will never forget...God has been so good to me. I had a great time with Alice too. She's the best mother-in-law! My hair is growing back and my "burn" is healing. It's good to get back to the rhythm of my home and life as usual. I've made it through this round and I'm going to enjoy every day God gives me. My next appointments are in July. I'll let you know how they go.

Spring Break
Billy and the kids are coming to Houston for Spring break! I'm so excited! I can't believe that six weeks have almost gone bye. Only two more weeks left. William and Victoria are going to stay with me until Billy comes back to get us. My last day of treatment will be Friday, March 26th. Radiation has been much easier than chemo. I'm a little tired, but nothing like chemo tired.

Life in Houston
My radiation treatments are going good. My hair is growing back, slowly. I'm meeting the nicest ladies in the waiting room. I've met a new friend at First Baptist Church, Houston, named Marianne and we met her for breakfast today. Alice and I are having a lot of fun. We have had the opportunity to go to a Beth Moore Bible study that Beth Moore is teaching at First Baptist! She is such an awesome teacher. The Lord is blessing me in this time I have to be away from my family. The family at home are doing really good. They are all pitching in and helping each other out. I'm proud of them. My last treatment is March 29. I should be home for Easter. Yeah!!

Radiation.
Good news! The ultra sound and the P.E.T. scan were normal! Friday I have an appointment to be measured and marked for the treatments, then on Wednesday the 10th I'll begin the 32 daily treatments. Billy is going to drive home tomorrow. We would appreciate prayer for a safe trip. It's a long 600 miles. Thank you all for everything. I am so blessed! God has been very good to me!

To Houston
Our next step in the journey will be Houston, Texas. I'm scheduled to have a P.E.T. scan and an ultra sound on Monday, February 1 and then see the Radiologist and the Oncologist on Tuesday. Hopefully all goes well and I will begin my radiation treatments. I need to do the radiation in Houston because they want to aim it exactly where they want it and that's good with me. I am so blessed to have my mother-in-law living in Houston, so I'm going to stay with her. She's 86 and full of life, yet lonely since my father-in-law died last year. It will be good for both of us. I'm really going to miss Billy and the kids. Hopefully we will get together every few weeks. I'll keep you posted and look forward to hearing from you. You all are such a blessing to me.

Finally Done!
Next step, radiation in Houston! My white blood count came back up and I was able to take my last chemo treatment. Now my hair can grow back! Boy, have missed it! (eyebrows and eyelashes included) I'll be in Houston for six and half weeks taking the radiation treatments five days a week. I am so fortunate to have my mother-in-law live there, so I will be staying with her. I'm sure going to miss my family, but thanks to computers and telephones, I'll still be in touch every day. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement!
